About
Marta Mata is a young Portuguese pianist based in Brussels. Regarded by her expressive and passionate playing, Marta's solo performances are complemented by her participation in various chamber music projects. In these collaborations, she has premiered compositions by several Portuguese composers, such as Daniel Bernardes, Lino Guerreiro, and João Camacho. She has performed in many halls, namely CCB (Centro Cultural de Belém), Muziekgebouw, Museu do Oriente, Centro Cultural de Cascais, Picadeiro Real, Academia das Ciências de Lisboa, and Theatro Thalia.
Marta has won awards in competitions like Oeiras Piano Competition (1st Prize) and INATEL/OML Prize. Additionally, she received a prestigious scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation during her studies with Professor Frank van de Laar at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
Currently she is pursuing a Master's degree under the guidance of Professor Aleksandar Madžar at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
